Holy Family Ministries Alum Destiny Jackson Signs with Illinois Women's Basketball

Chicago native Destiny Jackson, a graduate of Holy Family and soon-to-be graduate of Whitney Young High School, has officially signed her National Letter of Intent to play basketball for the University of Illinois Fighting Illini.  Jackson will join the team for the 2026 season as an elite point guard, making her commitment official during the National Signing Period.

Jackson expressed her excitement about staying close to her roots, citing the family atmosphere within the Illini program as a key factor in her decision. I chose the University of Illinois because it felt like home from the moment I stepped on campus," she said. Growing up in Illinois, I wanted to stay connected to my roots, and Illinois gives me the perfect balance of familiarity and new opportunities."

Illinois Women's Basketball Head Coach Shauna Green is equally enthusiastic about Jackson joining the team.  "We are so excited to have Destiny Jackson join our Illini family," Green commented. "We could not be more excited that she's a part of our family and she has such a bright future here at Illinois with us."  Jackson's signing marks a significant addition to the Illini roster, and Holy Family is sending love and blessings for all her future successes.
